Recently I visited my local Boots store to stock up on a few essential make up bits (Why does everything always run out at the same time?) and discovered that they now stock NYX make up. This is probably old news if you’re a beauty blog reader, as I believe you’ve been able to find NYX at Boots for a few weeks now. This was the first time I had seen the new additions for myself and I was impressed by the range of products available.
I’ve been a long-time user of NYX products, having previously purchased them via eBay or Ulta, during trips to the US. I love the brand and their range has only improved over the years. Whether you’re a make up lover with a discerning budget, a newbie make up collector, or simply someone looking to try out new products, I can’t recommend them highly enough.
I picked up their Tinted Brow Mascara in the shade ‘Espresso’ after hearing Amy of the Cozy Girls recommend it in a recent video. I’d previously been using the Benefit Gimmie Brow and found it disappointing, so I was looking for something more affordable. I also decided to try out one of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, after hearing rave reviews about them for years. One shade that has recently got a lot of attention is ‘Stockholm’, a peachy nude so I decided to give it a go.
I also stocked up on my favourite drugstore liquid eyeliner of all time: Soap & Glory’s Supercat liner. It lasts the longest of any budget liner I’ve tried and the felt tip never gets blunt. Not a patch on my beloved Kat Von D, but much easier to get your hands on. I needed a new foundation and wanted one with an SPF, as summer is drawing near. I went for Maybelline’s Dream Satin Liquid and, spoiler alert, I love it. Don’t get it confused with the horrors of their Dream Matte Mousse. This foundation gives beautiful coverage (definitely more medium, but it is build-able) with a natural satin finish.
